We did enjoy the fast pace of the book and the different plotlines did blend nicely together. It rather reminded me of an episode of any good crime solving/mystery/PI television series. In these episodes, there are usually more than one storyline with a scoop of personal drama surrounding the lead characters to keep the audience from switching channels or raiding the fridge due to a lack of interest. If cozy mysteries and crime solving series’ is your go-to comfort – don’t skip this series! Elza Read in Book Tour
The investigations are continually in motion, with several interesting and exciting storylines finely meshed together. The author maintains a steady, productive pace, so there is never a dull moment for the team or the reader. There are some surprising twists and turns as the cases wend their way to resolution, though, and that had me invested in the story from the first page to the last. Although readers are recommended to begin the series with the first book, this one can stand on its own. Guatemala Paula’s Review
And it all adds up to a quick, enjoyable read for me. The characters are likable – I think Dory is a particular favorite. I also liked that Farrell gave her bad guys some understandable reasons for their actions, and not just malicious intent. I mean, good intentions don’t justify theft and mayhem and attempted (or actual) murder, but it gives the characters some unexpected depth. If you enjoy a clean cozy mystery that will hold your attention, you’ll want to read In the Frame! I look forward to reading more of Farrell’s books. Review by The Plain Spoken Pen
